His Excellency the Minister of Economy and Commerce participates in the issuance of Issue No.1 of the Daily Prices Bulletin

His Excellency the Prime Minister, Eng. Abdel Hamid Al-Dabaiba, held a meeting at the Ministry of Economy and Trade’s office today, Monday, March 27, 2023, in the presence of His Excellency the Acting Minister of Economy and Trade, His Excellency the Minister of Transportation, His Excellency the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and the Prime Minister, and the Undersecretaries for Economic Affairs and Social Affairs. Free Zones, the President of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, heads of affiliated agencies and directors of departments and offices in the Ministry.

The meeting was also attended by the head of the Municipal Guard, the chairman of the management committee of the National Center for Animal Health, and members of the emergency room to provide commodities for the Food and Drug Control Center.Where His Excellency the Minister of Economy and Trade in charge of the meeting reviewed the results of the work of the emergency room to provide goods and follow up on their prices during the blessed month of Ramadan, indicating, according to the results, that there is stability in the flow of goods and their prices currently.The meeting also discussed the mechanism of supplying goods and their flow to the local market.The ministry also presented to the Prime Minister an amendment to a ruling regarding the establishment of joint-stock companies, in addition to a decision regarding allowing the re-export of imported goods.

The meeting also discussed the development of trade policies, and the Minister of Transportation presented the role assigned to the Ministry of Economy and Trade regarding submitting a proposal to develop trade policies and submitting them to the Prime Ministry for approval, and that a technical committee be formed to be assigned this task, while it was indicated that a higher committee could be formed to coordinate economic policies in its axes. The three are commercial, financial and monetary, by a decision of the Council of Ministers.The Prime Minister also pointed out the importance of the Ministry of Economy playing its role in strengthening the role of the private sector under the sovereignty of the state and organizing supply operations in cooperation with the competent authorities and business owners, stressing the importance of supporting the agricultural and livestock sector to raise the level of local production.
