A field visit to Al-Khoms Sea Port, Wednesday, March 15, 2023.

Within the framework of the joint cooperation between the Libya Trade Network and the Libyan Ports Company, the assigned technical work team holds a consultative meeting with some of the managers and specialists of the Libyan Ports Company, the managers and heads of departments and technical units in the port management of the company.

The meeting reviewed the executive position of the electronic management project for the port of Al-Khums.

The field visit also examined the operations and the documentary cycle of shipping, handling, storage, movement and goods delivery operations.

Some of the port’s facilities, including berths and storage yards in the port, and the company’s work mechanism, were also reviewed.

This visit and discussions come within the framework of preparing for the adoption of a joint work agreement between the Ports Company and the Trade Network to achieve technical and informational integration, provide possible facilities for customers, follow up on compliance with trade facilitation rules, and develop customer performance.

In addition to identifying the needs of training programs in preparation for their adoption within the training program for the year 2023, which is to be implemented by the Training and Capacity Development Center (TTC) of the Libya Trade Network.

The work team of the Libya Trade Network included the Director of the Foreign Trade Facilitation Department, the Director of the Trade Data Center, the Head of the Commercial Procedures and Operations Department, the Director of the Central Region Branch of the Trade Network, and members of the branch’s technical development team.
