A meeting to discuss the joint work framework between the General Authority for Information and the Libya Trade Network

A meeting was held this morning, Tuesday, 07/25/2023 AD, at the headquarters of the General Authority for Information in Tripoli, between Mr. Ahmed Al-Darwish, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libya Trade Network, and Mr. Abdel Basset Al-Baour, Chairman of the General Authority for Information, in the presence of Mr. Dr. Abdul Raouf Al-Bibass, Advisor to the Authority, and Mr. Haitham Misbah, Assistant Executive Director of the Libya Trade Network.

The meeting covered a review of the most important programs and projects that are being implemented by both sides. Discussing aspects of future joint cooperation between them in the areas of digital transformation in the trade sector, especially those related to the operational aspect of foreign trade as well as electronic commerce. In addition to developing data and information exchange systems, the meeting also included discussing the requirements for localizing digital transformation systems in sectors concerned with developing transactions related to foreign trade, such as ports and customs, and developing related information systems.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on benefiting from the work and technical reports available to the Authority, such as the National Directory of Government Data, and allowing participation in the Digital Lab, which is supervised by the General Authority for Information. In return, the Authority can benefit from the data and periodic analytical bulletins issued by the Libyan Trade Network. And exchange information and commercial data in the future.

The two sides also agreed to establish a cooperation framework that guarantees cooperation in the field of exchange of experiences, training, and participation in technical development and technical support work in order to achieve integration and fruitful cooperation between national institutions to serve the public interest.
